For more than 100 years, lead Pb-207 has been the radiation shielding material of choice at medical facilities and research laboratories. This wide spread use comes with a health threatening cost. Lead is toxic to humans.
In response to this health and environmental threat, we are pleased to introduce you to a revolutionary radiation shielding products, produced from a natural mineral which is non-toxic and harmless to our environment:
Barite Shielding Board and Barite Shielding Bricks.
Barite shielding board (BSB01)
BSB01 is designed for medical x ray shielding from energy 60 to 200 KVP. It has various applications for wall and ceiling shielding of imaging exam rooms. It is also well suited for door shielding, movable barrier shielding and working partition shielding.
BSB is an aggregate of compressed Barium Sulphate, wood fibre and cement. The resulting board is fire resistant. Installation is as simple as dry wall. No additional shielding compensation is required for nailing or screwing. Gaps are filled with Barite Silicon to prevent radiation leakage.
Barite Brick (BK10)
Barite Brick is designed for radiation shielding of high energy radiation and high activity protons, gamma rays and electron beams within medical and industrial facilities. It is ideal shielding for linear accelerators, radiation bunkers, proton therapy vaults and I-131 therapy wards. BK10 minimises space requirements and reduces cost for non-toxic shielding as a replacement for lead and concrete.
BK10 is a v-lock design to prevent radiation leakage. Installation is as easy as a standard brick wall.
The barite brick is profiled to be interlocking, giving full radiation barrier without leakage at the joins. A barite glue is applied to bond the bricks together.
